Hope & Help Are Here
Business owners, believe it or not, now is the ideal time to flex your entrepreneurial muscles and let your imagination run wild. Do not allow the Coronavirus outbreak to paralyze you with fear. This is the time to dream up new, creative ways to additional streams of income.
For example, you could offer gift cards, find a way to service people who aren't isolated, or find new ways to engage new customers. Many of your customers are probably indoors and are looking for ways to be entertained. Why not start a YouTube channel or find some other way to create content and engage them?
Also as you forge your own path, there are many opportunities and tools available to assist with your day to day challenges. State and federal governments are offering financial assistance grants and many are also offering special funding for businesses that are hiring.
We have compiled a list that we hope offers you reassurance:
(1) Free Money is Available: Facebook is offering $100M in cash grants and ad credits. Up to 30,000 small businesses across the country are eligible. The money will assist those with 2 to 50 employees and are feeling an impact from COVID-19. There is a full list of qualifications on their website.
(2) Tax Extension: The Fed announced a tax payment extension. The new due date is July 15th. However, taxpayers still need to file taxes or extensions by April 15th. There will not be any penalties or interest applied until the July deadline. Understand there is not an extension of paying payroll taxes.
(3) Free Payroll: Workful is an employee and payroll management system out of Georgia. It is offering its software for free to small businesses in the Greater Augusta Area, through the end of the year. You can apply online.
(4) Stay Informed: Keep your ear to the ground on the ever changing status of Coronavirus cases, changes and impacts by staying connected. Rely on credible sources like the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), World Health Organization (WHO).
